2014 MLB Draft Underway - Sports Relocation MLB Transactions


The scouting reports are in, the list of favorites has been made, and now all that remains is for thirty major league teams to draft forty players each in the annual MLB draft.

Thirty teams….forty players each….1,200 first amateur baseball players are about to have their dreams come true. The schedule for this year’s draft looks like this:

Day One…..Thursday, June 5 first two rounds and supplemental rounds

Day Two…..Friday, June 6 rounds three through ten

Day Three..Saturday, June 7 rounds eleven through forty

With the first round completed, let’s take a look at the top choices that were made.

Not surprisingly, 20 of the top 34 picks were pitchers, always a position that does well in the draft.

Now the business of signing the draft picks begins, even as the other rounds play out over the next two days, and then players will be sent to various farm teams to begin their professional baseball careers.
