Reggie Sanders Lists Scottsdale Home
Although former right-fielder Reggie Sanders only played for the Arizona Diamondbacks during the 2001 season, he’s called Arizona his home ever since. And now, Sanders has listed his Scottsdale home for $2,195,000. Between 1992 and 2006, Sanders hit at least 11 home runs in each season for each team he played for — eight teams in all. He was a member of the Diamondbacks’ 2001 World Series champions as well as the St. Louis Cardinals’ 2005 National League Division Series championship team. He retired in 2007.
Although Sanders changed teams and signed with the San Francisco Giants in January 2002, he and his wife made the decision to settle down in Scottsdale and bought the Arizona home in December 2002.
I think the Number 1 thing was the school system. We really think the kids have thrived since they’ve been here,” Sanders told The Arizona Republic in 2003.
Sanders first listed his home on the Scottsdale real estate market in 2009 for $3.4 million. The listing was removed later and re-listed with with another brokerage. From there, Sanders’ home has had a few price chops: down to $2,995,000 in late 2009, again to $2,695,000 in April 2010, and a few more cuts before its current price tag of $2,195,000.
Decorated in an Italian Renaissance style with tapestries, ornate columns and tile floors, the home includes 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms with 7,905 square feet of living space. The property has nearly an acre of space and is situated in a “great Scottsdale location.”
Sanders reportedly is an accomplished cook, and the eat-in kitchen speaks volumes with gourmet features and high-end appliances.
Additionally, the home features a pool, outdoor play area and large patio with an outdoor kitchen and living space.
