Here is one we especially like, one that has saved us hours of needless repetition.  Take a digital picture of each appliance or electronic item so that you can see how they were wired.  How many hours are wasted (by all of us) in trying to properly hook up a stereo system of DVD player when it would have been so simple if you had a digital picture of it when it was done properly.
