NBA Mock Draft 2017 Top Five

The NBA Mock Draft 2017, presented to you by Sports Relocation, Inc.,  will take a look at the Top Five picks in this year’s draft held this Thursday, June 22.  Despite the blockbuster trade between the Celtics and the Sixers, we do not see the player order changing in the draft. Let’s take a look at this year’s NBA Top Five draft selections:

  • 1st Philadelphia picks Markelle Fultz, PG, from Washington. Fultz gives the Sixers the backcourt scorer they have needed for years, and Fultz is a perfect pairing with Ben Simmons.  Bet the house on this first pick.
  • 2ndA. Lakers pick Lonzo Ball, PG, UCLA. This is perhaps the one wildcard in the draft. L.A. has made some sounds about not picking Ball, but we are still betting this is the direction they will take.
  • 3rd Boston takes Josh Jackson, SF, Kansas. This could go either way, Jackson of Jayson Tatum, but we’re betting on Jackson because he’s a better athlete and will fit into Boston’s system better.
  • 4th Phoenix takes Jonathan Isaac, SF, Florida State. Isaac gives Phoenix a combo forward who can do a number of good things, and he will pair well with Marquese Chriss.
  • 5th Sacramento takes De’Aaron Fox, PG, Kentucky. The Kings have made no secret that they will be drafting a point guard, and no secret of the fact that Fox is the PG they want most.

Other players to watch in the NBA Mock Draft as the Top Ten unfolds:  Dennis Smith Jr., PG, North Carolina State; Lauri Markkanen, PF, Arizona; Jayson Tatum, SF, Duke; and Frank Ntilikina, PG, France.

Thursday will be here soon enough and then the water-cooler debates can begin.
